Kindness Adventures Explores Sri Lanka
We're embarking on a journey to Sri Lanka to connect with a minister working with an orphanage. Together we will find ways for us to spread kindness. This exciting expedition is the planning and discovery phase for an inaugural Kindness Adventures DESTINATION: Sri Lanka.
During our Sri Lanka trip, we'll explore both renowned attractions and enchanting off-the-beaten-path destinations. Our adventure begins in Colombo, the vibrant capital, where we'll immerse ourselves in the lively rhythm of daily life while exploring iconic landmarks like Independence Square and Gangaramaya Temple.
We'll journey to Kandy, a city steeped in cultural significance. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and the serene Peradeniya Botanical Gardens await our exploration. As we continue our travels, we'll delve into the scenic landscapes of Nuwara Eliya, known for its lush tea plantations and cool climate.
Our Sri Lankan odyssey takes us to the ancient city of Sigiriya, where the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress rises majestically. We'll climb to its summit for breathtaking panoramic views and explore the surrounding historical marvels.
Throughout our journey, we'll savor the diverse flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine, from aromatic curries to fresh seafood. Local homestays will offer an authentic experience, providing insight into the warm hospitality and unique traditions of Sri Lanka.
We're ready for a journey filled with cultural immersion, breathtaking landscapes, and the joy of making a positive impact in the world.

Whether you're exploring its ancient ruins, embarking on wildlife safaris, or simply soaking in the natural beauty, Sri Lanka promises an unforgettable journey that appeals to all senses. This itinerary invites you to not only witness the splendor of Sri Lanka but also to make a meaningful impact through volunteering, all while indulging in adventurous activities that showcase the very best of this enchanting island.
10-day itinerary for a group of 10 women in Sri Lanka, with a balance between volunteering at an orphanage and adventure travel, sounds like a fulfilling and exciting trip. Here's a suggested itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Colombo
- Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. Transfer to hotel and check-in.
- Evening: Welcome dinner and orientation about the trip.
Day 2-5: Volunteering at the Orphanage
- Location: Partner with a local minister's orphanage (location based on orphanage's needs).
- Activities: Engage in teaching, playing with children, assisting in daily chores, and specific tasks requested by the orphanage.
- Cultural Exchange: Sessions for cultural exchange.
Day 6: Kandy and Knuckles Mountain Range Hiking
- Morning: Travel to Kandy. Quick visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
- Afternoon: Head to the Knuckles Mountain Range for a scenic hike. Explore the diverse flora and fauna.
- Evening: Return to Kandy for overnight stay.
Day 7: Whitewater Rafting in Kitulgala
- Morning: Travel to Kitulgala.
- Whitewater Rafting: Experience thrilling whitewater rafting on the Kelani River.
- Evening: Relax in Kitulgala or explore the village.
Day 8: Nuwara Eliya and Tea Plantation
- Morning: Head to Nuwara Eliya.
- Afternoon: Visit a tea plantation, learn about tea production, and enjoy tea tasting.
- Evening: Leisure time in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 9: Horton Plains National Park and World's End
- Early Morning: Trek through Horton Plains to the World’s End viewpoint.
- Afternoon: Travel to Yala.
- Evening: Relax in preparation for the next day's safari.
Day 10: Yala National Park Safari and Return to Colombo
- Early Morning: Full-day safari in Yala National Park.
- Afternoon: Travel back to Colombo.
- Evening: Farewell dinner and preparation for departure.
